Tecnoalimenti showcases Agro2Circular in Lombardy, a key replication site for circular economy

Lombardy strengthens its role as a key replication site for sustainable food manufacturing

On February 4th Tecnoalimenti, an Italian consortium focused on scientific research and technology in the agri-food research established in 1981, presented Agro2Circular and its innovative multidimensional model to the Lombardy strategic community: Secure and Sustainable Food Manufacturing.

The event attracted approximately 25 key stakeholders from politics, academia, and industry, fostering a dynamic discussion on strategies to accelerate the circular transition in the Lombardy region. This engagement is particularly significant as Lombardy is designated as one of the replication sites for Agro2Circular, underscoring the region’s commitment to implementing sustainable practices in the agri-food sector.

By integrating innovative recycling processes and digital tools for traceability, Agro2Circular aims to establish a circular economy model that can be replicated across Europe- other than Lombardy, other replication sites are Region de Murcia (Spain) and Lithuania- thus allowing broad replication potential.

Tecnoalimenti’s presentation highlighted the project’s objectives and also reinforced the region’s role as a pivotal replication site, demonstrating how collaborative efforts can drive the adoption of circular economy principles in food manufacturing.
