New publication highlights innovative strategies to transform agricultural waste into valuable resources, driving sustainability in Lombardy and beyond

Agro2Circular project proudly announces the launch of its latest publication, the Lombardy Replication Case Booklet. This booklet highlights key findings from the project by exploring innovative pathways for upcycling agri-food waste in the Lombardy region.

The Lombardy Replication Case study showcases how systemic circular economy solutions can be applied to the region’s agricultural sector. It identifies high-potential value chains for food waste valorization, including grapes, apples, tomatoes, and lettuce, while assessing their economic and environmental impact. The booklet also details stakeholder engagement strategies, policy recommendations, and technological advancements in bio-based industries such as nutraceuticals and cosmetics.

This publication aims to provide a roadmap for scaling circular solutions in Lombardy and beyond: by leveraging local synergies and innovative technologies it is possible to transform agri-food waste into valuable resources, reducing environmental impact while fostering economic growth.

The Lombardy Replication Case Booklet is now available here for stakeholders, policymakers, and businesses seeking to implement sustainable waste upcycling strategies.
