Are you tough enough to join the Arena? On 4 October 2022, participants from all over Europe will take part in the Green Deal Arena meeting in Brussels and online
The Green Deal Arena is a mixed online and in person event gathering high-level participants from different local movements, policy groups and research institutions to discuss about:
- What does (and should) the Green Deal say about the role of people and society?
- Who is already ‘out there’ in Europe contributing to Green Deal objectives in practice?
- How can organisations co-create transition pathways for just and sustainable change?
- How can we bridge the ‘shared’ middle ground between, for example, collectives/individuals, theory/practice, and social/technical innovations?
This event is the chance to build a network of diverse players (policyworkers, practitioners, scientists) working on just sustainability transitions across Europe. Moreover, participants in the Arena discussion can learn more about transitions thinking applied to their specific context.
The event will not end in the Arena, since the discussions outcomes will be fed back into the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research & Innovation, as well circulated to official Green Deal project working groups and Mission Secretariats. The event participants will be involved in downscaling EU-level policies to a regional level, discovering how things works on the ground. Not to mention the information participants will get about the Shared Green Deal funding call to be released in late 2022.
