The successful workshop features Agro2Circular and other projects for showcasing solutions in the food sector
The ENOUGH Industry Workshop, held on 18th and 19th September, brought together leading experts and industry stakeholders to explore cutting-edge technological solutions for reducing emissions within the food supply chain. As part of the EU-funded ENOUGH project, the event highlighted demonstrator results that showcased practical strategies to minimize environmental impact in food production and distribution.
This event was hosted by the KU Leuven Postharvest Group and the Flanders Centre of Postharvest Technology, and it also provided a platform for collaboration with sister EU projects, Agro2Circular and ZeroWaste, which presented complementary solutions aimed at fostering circular economy practices and reducing waste. These initiatives, which align with the overarching goals of the ENOUGH project, emphasized the importance of resource efficiency and sustainability in the food sector.
The workshop touched several different topics refelecting the phases of the food supply chain: storage, packaging, transport, food waste and losses.
Industry leaders, contributed valuable insights from a commercial perspective, underscoring the practical challenges and opportunities of implementing these sustainable solutions at scale. Their participation enriched the discussions by bridging the gap between technological innovation and market applicability.
The event concluded with engaging field visits, where attendees witnessed firsthand the application of these emission-reducing technologies in real-world settings, further demonstrating their potential to revolutionize the food supply chain.
